This Is Going To Hurt Me More That It Will Hurt You

So you know that I write iPhone game reviews for Macworld as a part time job, right? If you didn't check out one of my reviews:

Steampunk Hockey

Pocket Chef

Anyway, I wrote bunch of reviews last week and it's time to change out the old games on my phone for new games to play and review. For some reason, though, I'm having a hard time saying goodbye to my farm on "We Rule" (review to come soon, 3.5 stars) and a really bad game called "Crash the Crib" (2.5 stars).

I decided to post this because this is obviously a very emotional time in my life.

Farewell old iphone games.

Movie Fun Failure

I've spent a lot of time writing for my online content project this month, so this weekend I felt like I deserved a little break.

A bunch of SAIS Bologna kids were going to go see "gli Amici del Bar Margherita" at an independent theater in the outskirts of DC. After being cooped up in my room for three days writing web content, I was excited to have some real human interaction (or at least watch some). I left my house a little late, only giving myself 45 minutes to get there. This was a mistake because the Metro was running on some weird schedule because of construction stuff.

I ended up not getting to the theater until 5 minutes after the movie started, which wouldn't have been too bad except that the movie was sold out. I took a picture of the theater to remember the fun I might have had. Sigh.

As luck would have it, I managed to run into my friend Katharine near the metro station on the way back and we chatted for a bit, so the trip wasn't all failure. I guess I'll have to describe to you all what Bologna is like by living there instead of watching a movie set there. Darn.

No Fun April

This is my first blog post I haven't written really late and backdated in a while. Maybe I should resubscribe to Procrastinators Monthly. Maybe.

Procrastination and motivation are the conflicting themes of the month of April for me. I have an opportunity to make some bones and also work with my old boss and mentor Ana on a project this month. The project involves me writing a ton of web content and working 35 - 40 hours a week from home.

I'll be cutting down on UNHCR time, probably only going into the UN 2-3 days a week this month. The rest of the time - including weekends and most nights, I'll be working on my computer from home. This sounds like a sweet deal except that when I sit on my personal laptop by myself for 8 hours a day, I get procrastination fever. Suddenly, I need a ton of breaks to check facebook and axecop.com. Hopefully I'll be able to survive the distractions in the month of April and totally own this project. We'll see.

Until then, I plan on being pretty boring so don't expect too many fun stories from me this month.
